Abstract

This study analyzes the discussions on the construction of Masjid al-Nabawi in Tafseer Bayan-ul-Quran in the light of Seerat Ibn Hisham. The construction of Masjid al-Nabawi marks a significant milestone in Islamic history, serving not only as a place of worship but also as the center of Islamic social and political life. The research analyzes the views presented by Dr. Israr Ahmed in Tafseer Bayan-ul-Quran regarding the location and construction of Masjid al-Nabawi and compares them with the historical accounts provided in Seerat Ibn Hisham.  The aim of this research is to harmonize the historical details of Seerat Ibn Hisham with the discussions in Tafseer Bayan-ul-Quran and to highlight areas of agreement and divergence between these two sources. Previous studies have examined different aspects of the construction of Masjid al-Nabawi in isolation; however, this research integrates both historical and exegetical perspectives to provide a comprehensive analysis.  The study finds that Dr. Israr Ahmed’s interpretation in Tafseer Bayan-ul-Quran assigns deeper spiritual significance to certain details, whereas Seerat Ibn Hisham places greater emphasis on historical and factual narratives. This analysis offers new insights into the topic and demonstrates how various dimensions of Islamic history and exegesis complement one another.  This research is expected to be highly beneficial for scholars, students, and anyone interested in Islamic history and Quranic exegesis.
