Abstract

This research paper examines the classification of the miracles of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) within Islamic biographical works, emphasizing the importance of these categorizations in enhancing the understanding and interpretation of these extraordinary events. Although the classification of miracles has not been the central focus of scholarly discussions, it plays a vital role in comprehending their nature and significance. Miracles can be analyzed from various perspectives, each offering distinct frameworks for categorization. The paper outlines ten key classifications of the Prophet’s miracles, providing a detailed explanation of each, aiming to enrich the academic discourse on the subject. The paper demonstrates that Allah (SWT) granted Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) a broad range of miracles across multiple categories. These classifications, introduced by biographers, were intended to facilitate the narration, study, and understanding of these miraculous events. The categorization of miracles not only highlights the vast scope of the subject but also reflects the diversity of scholarly viewpoints on miracles within Islamic scholarship. The paper emphasizes that these divisions allow for a more organized and structured approach to studying the Prophet's miracles, showcasing their theological, historical, and spiritual significance. Through both introductory and concluding discussions, this paper presents a comprehensive view of these classifications and underscores their relevance in the broader context of Islamic thought. By doing so, it highlights the crucial role of the Prophet's miracles in shaping the understanding of his life and mission, offering valuable insights into their ongoing impact on Islamic theology and history.
